Classes
Classes are currently divided into two age ranges: 3 & 4 year olds and 5 & 6 year olds. Sessions are six weeks long, with one class per week—each exploring a different princess. All classes are 50 minutes in duration.
3-4 year olds: This class will focus on learning the basic feet and arm positions, along with the basic steps of classical ballet. Students will be encouraged to develop musicality, coordination, flexibility, and spatial awareness through class exercises and creative movement.
5-6 year olds: Participants will continue to expand their knowledge of the steps, positions, and proper technique of ballet. This focus intends to add strength and increase coordination, while developing an improved sense of posture. Class work will involve more intricate patterns of movement and challenge the student with longer exercises and step combinations.
Each participant will be required to wear a leotard, pink tights and ballet
slippers. Students with long hair should have their hair pulled up into
a bun; shorter hair should be kept neat and off the face.
Parents or caregivers are asked to please have your child use the washroom before the start of the class to limit disruptions.
Parents and caregivers will be allowed to take pictures of their child in costume at the end of the last class of each six week session.
Please note that class size is limited to 10 students, so register early to ensure placement in the class of your choice. No previous dance training is required for either level.
Fees:
The fee for a six week session of Once Upon A Princess is $120.00
(GST included).
We accept cheque or money order.
